Filmed over the course of 10 years at the Bellevue Program for Survivors of Torture, this intimate documentary — the first of its kind — traces the journeys of four people as they overcome the unimaginable, rebuild their lives, and find the strength to speak out in the country they now call home.
Over three quarters of the world – 141 countries still torture.
More than 70 million people around the world live as refugees today. Many carry the scars of torture — but they are largely anonymous, their histories unknown, voices unheard.
